Also at that time in England there were small tabloid press in which women and men can place small ads with marital character.
This tradition was borrowed from the Englishmen and the Germans. The Germans have improved this advertising technology; they released a single printed sheet of paper with information of persons interested to marry. Like the British, German marriage announcements described only the strong external characteristics of gentlemen and ladies, as well as a brief mention of their position in society. For example, “Merchant Schmidt is ready to join a fate with sweet-voiced lass of an angelic nature." A few years later started to appear some persons offering themselves as marriage brokers to find a right partner for a daughter or a son of wealthy parents. They called themselves matchmakers. For providing these services they were receiving a good fee.
In the early twentieth century, such marital sheets, such matchmakers started to appear in Russia. However, in most cases, young people wanted to marry only girls with a large dowry, in order to open a joint business or vice versa, to survive at the expense of girls. For example, "Young, successful engineer, would like to get married a girl from a noble family, without the dubious past, with a capital of 70,000 roubles to open the Knitting Factory."
In the age of twenty-first century, almost nothing has changed in the marriage and dating agencies, they are "grown up", many of them were united into huge marriage and dating international network projects, actually people's attitude to life, morals, and principles were changed. They are improving every year, marriage agencies began to use modern dating technologies, but their main aim is the same - to connect lonely hearts, to introduce and bring together man and woman to each other, so they were able to create a happy family alliance
