Divorce is not the best and probably the worst variant of solving of family crisis in Russia and in the whole world. It has a point only when both of divorced partners can create new families at once. However, there are not much of such opportunities. Sometimes psychological difficulties bother, sometimes demographical ones. As unbiased statistics say, in Russia in 10 years only 68% of men and 27% of women contract a remarriage. There is a difference in about 5,5 years between the first and the second marriage. Much time is needed for a regeneration of mental forces, understanding of everything that has happened, search for a new life partner. Some can’t overcome a fear of a repeated mistake and get used to solitude. Difficulties of creation of a new family for a divorced Russian woman are to a large extent conditioned by an presence of children who usually stay with their mothers after a divorce (a probability to get married in this case is three times less). Besides, after 35 years old the main reason of a woman’s solitude is an obvious lack of men of a proper age. It is connected with a high lethal level in Russia. Within psychological reasons heavily drinking men are excluded by women from the number of potential ‘husbands’. Thus, real chances of divorced women are lower. That’s why the older a woman is the more difficult for her it is to find a husband. Another reason is added to this: children growing older begin to actively prevent a new marriage.
There are certain peculiarities of the second marriage. Usually those who went through a divorce procedure state that there is no love existing, that it is romanced. That’s why Russian girls contracting a remarriage don’t build upon an ‘eternal’, romantic love anymore and concern a marriage with a pragmatic point of view. A choice of a new life partner is made thoughtfully, with a consideration of benefits and drawbacks of each other, compatibility of interest and needs. A man and a woman try to take into consideration and exclude those flaws which were present in their previous marriage, that’s why they don’t decide for the second marriage if they reveal with a candidate the same or similar drawbacks which their previous husband had. In the basis of the second marriage lays a conscious affection, not an emotional lyricism as in the first one.
No matter how varied probable motives of a remarriage for Russian girls are, all of them can be grouped in three big series:
1) satisfaction of need for love and emotional acceptance;
2) striving to achieve peace of mind;
3) improvement of material life side, household conditions.
The second marriage, if it brings luck, is like the second life which should be leaved through in a worthier way than the first one.
Difficulties of family life recede into the past as fast as children grow up. And till senility a harmony of souls, thoughts and feelings is kept which makes life attractive. Let's be optimists: a person can find a family happiness within youth and old age, in any difficult situations through struggle and overcoming, labor and patience.
